Internal CPD: Creating a Modular Course 

You can add your own modular video course which you can make accessible to staff members and parents. 

These videos should hosted in YouTube or Vimeo – you'll need the URL of each video to create this modular course. Before you get started we would recommend having:

  • A copy of all the URLs of the videos you wish to use
  • A high resolution image that you want to use for the course thumbnail
  • A selection of multiple choice questions and answers if you wish to include an end of course exam

  • Click on 'Admin' to the left of your profile icon 
  • Within the left hand navigation click on ‘Manage Internal CPD’ from under the Professional Development heading 
  • Click on the 'Add Internal CPD' button 
  • Under resource type select 'Modular' 
  • Toggle the access to select either parents or educators 
  • Fill in the title, description and duration of the course 
  • Select the category that this CPD falls under. Use the Add Category button to create a new one if necessary 
  • Add at least one learning outcome title and description 
  • You’ll need to upload an image for this course. Use the highest resolution you have, ideally 1920x1080. You can use an online resolution enhancer to adjust the resolution of your chosen image if necessary 
  • Add a module title and description before pasting the URL for the video
  • Click on 'Add Module'. Repeat this until all you have added the modules required 
  • You can choose to add an exam for users to complete at the end of your modular course. 
  • To do this toggle from Modules to Exam  
  • Give your exam a title before specifying how many questions you wish the exam to include. You can add more questions than the user is required to answer to – questions will then be selected at random for the user to answer. 
  • Next specify the number of questions that the user must get correct to pass 
  • Type your first question in the box and then add an answer before clicking on the plus button. Repeat this until you have the number of responses you want the user to select from. 
  • Mark the correct answer before clicking on 'Add question'
  • Once you have added your questions click 'Next' 
  • You can now either 'Publish' the Internal CPD which will make it visible to users immediately. Alternatively, you can choose ‘Save as draft.’ 
  • You can access the internal CPD from under the professional development menu in the left-hand navigation.
