Assigning Line Managers in People Development

Line Manager Mapping

Managers will have access to the following records for those they line manage:

- Objectives (also known as appraisal, goals, targets)
- Meetings (also known as Overview Statements, Review Meetings, Coaching)
- Standards (also known as Reviews, Self Reflection, Professional Standards)
- Quality Assurance via Reporting (also known as Lesson Observations, Drop Ins)
- Self Evaluations (where activated) via Reporting

Creating your Line Manager Structure

  • Select Users & Groups from the left-hand navigation menu.
  • Select Manage Users.
  • Under User Management, select Bulk Assign Line Managers.
  • Find the line managers name from the drop down. You can also search for the line managers name.
  • Click Select.
  • Select the users that you want the line manager to manage.
  • This will automatically save and you will see a green flash across the name and the word ‘Saved’ appear to the right-hand side. The individuals selected receive a notification informing them of this update. 
  • Once you have assigned all the relevant individuals to the manager, select a new manager from the drop-down above and press Select again to repeat the process. 

 

Checking your Line Manager Structure

You can check that your management structure is correct by using the Line manager Mappings Report
(you will require access to reports to view this, please see your People Development lead if you are unsure). 

  • Ensure you are in your Admin area.
  • Select Reports from the left hand navigation.
  • Select Line manager Mappings Report.
  • This will show a list of managers and who they line manage.
  • The Unassigned Users section at the bottom of the report will show staff who have not be assigned a line manager.
